Mary Kay

So I had the pleasure of reviewing some Mary Kay products a few weeks back. I received the products complementary from Mary Kay through Influenster. I must say, I was a little skeptical at first because Mary Kay isn't a brand that I normally use. In fact, when I think of Mary Kay I think of it being a brand my mother would use, not young people. I was pleasantly surprised, when I opened the box, it contained a mascara, lash primer, lipstick, brush and cream eye shadow.
The eye shadow and lipstick are in shades that don't suit my skin tone and they actually make me look like a clown or a hooker from the 80's, take your pick (lipstick in shade Pink Cherie and cream eye color in shade Violet Storm). I wish the shades of lipstick and cream eye color would have been more neutral to suit all skin types. I'm too porcelain for these shades. The cream eye color brush/concealer brush didn't work so well with the cream eye color but does for concealer. I will be using it for that purpose from now on.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the mascara and lash primer. The mascara is in shade I <3 Black and the lash primer is clear. The primer goes on smooth and really helps the mascara stick to your lashes. The mascara wand is wonderful at separating the lashes and making the look full and thick. Using the lash primer helps the mascara last all day and in this Alabama heat, we need it to!
The best piece of advice I can give you with the make up I reviewed is to make sure the lash primer is set before you put the mascara on. Put the primer on first when you are priming the rest of your face and by the time you get to the mascara you'll be good to go!

KitchenAid toy

I just got a new toy for my KitchenAid! It's a beater blade that scrapes the sides as it mixes!! Gone are the days where I have to stop what I'm doing and manually scrape the bowl! I will post again after I make cookies using it. I purchased it on Amazon for around $21.
